Abram “Abe” Weinrib said the secret to a long life is kindness. A Holocaust survivor, he passed away at the age of 102. His gentle smile and positive outlook could often be found at the JCC where he would work out and stay fit, well into his 90s. His presence is still felt throughout the Center, where his youthful spirit lives on. We honor his memory and love of physical fitness with The Abe Weinrib Memorial 5K Trail Run and 1-mile Family Fun Walk.
Abram “Abe” Weinrib said the secret to a long life is kindness. A Holocaust survivor, he passed away on January 4, 2015 at the age of 102. His gentle smile and positive outlook could often be found in the Diamond Family Fitness Center where he would work out and stay fit, well into his 90s. He visited with friends at the JCC every day, which kept him young and vibrant. His presence is still felt throughout the Center, where his youthful spirit lives on. We honor his memory and love of physical fitness with The Abe Weinrib Memorial 5K Trail Run and 1-mile Family Fun Walk.
The 1-mile walk will be entirely on paved surfaces - strollers are welcomed.
